WHAT IS THE COLOUR ANALYSIS?
Known also in italian as ”armocromia”, it’s a science which studies the chromatic complexion of the people, in order to find the range of tints that enrich their natural beauty.
It was born years ago and widely used in Hollywood films. The colours chosen for the actors and actresses were to enhance or emphasize particular messages for the audience. A bad feeling or situation, or even an amazing experience, just using the wrong or the right colour for the specific character. An interesting power of communication which is still highly employed in lots of field.
In colour analysis we speak about the undertone, which means the temperature of the skin.
It could be warm or cold. Why?
Because human beings have three pigments in their body: yellow, blue and red.
As a consequence, according to the percentage of each pigment, the skin could have a cold or warm temperature.
Once defined the undertone, the second step is understanding the intensity and the value of your hair, eye, skin. Once verified, the third and last one is analyzing the contrast.
This art takes inspiration to the colours of the nature and its seasons: your chromatic complexion could be winter, autumn, spring or summer.
I use the 4 + 12 groups method.
The consequence of the color analysis is buying better in an efficient way, being focused on what really enhances your features.
You may be confused when i speak about the undertone. The pigmentation is not visible to the human eye as it is under the tone of your skin.
The tone, on the other hand, is the one that we take in consideration when buying the make up, as it is the surface layer visible to your eye. The undertone is the one that comes to light when you wear the right or the wrong color closed to your visage.
So this process can only be made with special fabrics by a professional image consultant. The result will give you a totally different way of living, full of friends colors…and…it lasts forever as your undertone never change!
HOW DOES THE COLOUR ANALYSIS WORK?
Once explained the aim of this amazing discipline, i am going to write here the main steps i am used to following when the customer requires this service.
STEP 1: it’ s very important that the location is plenty of natural light, because the artificial one could vary the final result. That is why a professional mirror is provided in case the consultation needs to be done in a different space and the client cannot come to the office ( have a look to the pictures below );
STEP 2: it is fundamental not to have any make up on and, if possible, not tanned. The more natural the skin, the better the complexion can be studied;
STEP 3: if the hair is natural, it is not necessary to be covered. In case of coloured hair, it’s not a problem! With the use of a special and neutral drape on the hair is possible to be focused only on the natural features and decide which tint is best for you;
STEP 4: my advice is to remove any complement, detail or accessory on the visage, even earrings. Why? beacuse i will tell you which metal is best for the client to wear, so it’ s important to not be influenced by any extra variable;
STEP 5: the use of the coloured drapes. Once neutralised the visage, i will start combining the fabrics, warm and cold, closed to the neck. They are little pieces of textiles, with different temperature, intensity and darkness, in order to define how the skin reacts to them. The right colour can even out shine your tone, dimish blemishes, lines and dark circles. It also helps the complexion look younger and more radiant.
STEP 6: At the end of the analysis, you will know to which season you belong to. So the colours swatch the person will receive is a wide range of tints useful during shopping time and perfectly matchable among them. You will be able to create faboulous outfits in less time and in an easier way. It helps in lots of fields, not only in fashion: make – up, interior design , hair style , etc…so it will be your best ally forever.
